Add Your Link to the Big Crafty Blog Roll
Hello out there! I see in my stats that 897 unique individuals have visited this blog since it’s creation on February 19th (not even 3 weeks ago!) and 60 people have signed up to get the Big Crafty feed in their readers or inboxes. I’m pretty sure I’m not talking to myself anymore. That’s a relief!
It’s time to start a blog roll so I can keep up with you and you can meet some new people. Ready? Here’s what to do:
Leave the following bits of info in the comments to this post or any post this week:
- The name of your blog or web site
- The address of your blog/web site
- Do you knit, sew, crochet, or a combo of the three?
Your favorite kind of cho-co-late ca-nandy. The Godiva dark chocolate squares are my current fav. Dark chocolate IS good for you, you know. This is no longer a requirement. I shouldn’t torture myself - I’ve been eating healthy food for two months now…except for that Popeye’s chicken on Friday. Seriously, I want one of the surprise TV chefs to show up in my house where they cook a gourmet meal with what you’ve got on hand - ’cause my kitchen is freakin’ stocked with healthy food. And dark chocolate.
Coming up this week in no particular order:
- Doing a little more research into this duct-tape double thing, plus places to get a plus-size dress form.
- Crochet and knitting magazine pattern updates. Knit Simple magazine actually had 5 plus-size patterns! That doesn’t mean I would wear them, though.
- A report on my weekend sewing pattern stash enhancement expedition.
- Found some more free patterns for Free Friday.
- I’ll also take topic suggestions. On my list for the near future are more posts on re-sizing regular sized patterns.
Thanks for visiting!
Jen
Congrats on your blog! I enjoy knitting, crocheting, and reading but will pass on the chocolate. Thanks for all of the great resources!
Do tell us a bit about that darling baby you are holding!
Well the name of the blog be Decisions, Decisions Decisions http://decisions-decisions-decisions.blogspot.com/
I just finished my sweater, take a look.
Great Blog!!!! Come vist me at http://knitsridiculous.blogspot.com/ I knit, crochet and sew. My blog is relatively new. I am working on a pair of Jaywalker socks right now that are in serious danger of landing in the frog pond(for the second time). They are just not turning out the way I expect my socks to turn out. I have a crocheted bolero style short sleeve top on the back burner and may get that out to finish over the summer. But it will have to wait until I finish some sewing that I am doing for my sister in law. Thanks for all the free pattern links you posted the other day. Oh and I am definitely Plus Sized and fashion challenged by that. Come on over to my blog for a visit.
I love sewing & knitting & misc. craftyness in that order
I’m 6′ tall and plus sized. Learning to make some cute socks is on top of the list for me right now
I can’t wait to hear what great patterns you got this weekend.
Love the blog. I started knitting because I want to make stuff I can’t buy anywhere–or that I can’t afford. Whoever heard of $250 for a purse? I can make a unique and far more attractive purse for a small fraction of that. I love socks (hard to find cute socks, period, no matter what size one is, but it’s twice as hard for us with big feet!) and I love sweaters and pretty, colorful clothes. I hate looking through a catalog or a store and finding loads of pretty clothes–sized only in small, petite and elfin. So, if that’s the best the mass market can do, screw that, I’ll make my own! You go, Jen! Keep this big gal knitting (and keep the yarn stores in business)!
Just have to say I love what you are doing! I am on the Yahoo Beginning Knitters group and posted a reply to your topic. So with that out of the way…

I use myspace mostly. I’ve joined this site for Big Crafty.
I’ve been sewing for years. My mom has been sewing for forever (to me anyway). She taught me. She teaches sewing classes in Franklin, MA. You can sometimes find me in one of her classes if she has room for me. She started knitting several years ago and tried to teach me, but I wasn’t interested. One of my cousins had asked her to teach them how to knit in September. I then asked my mom to teach me. I was thinking that it be something fun to do, and to be able to hang out and see my cousin (I hardly see her). Well…I’m hooked! My cousin has yet to learn how to cast on. I love knitting! I have a wool allergy so I have a hard time finding things to make.
As I’ve gotten older I have started liking dark chocolate. I’m not like “typical” woman and have to have chocolate. I mostly crave it when it’s that time of the month. I am also trying to lose weight. I’ve lost 20 since August. I have 80 more to go (or about).
Thanks Jen!!
My blog is called ReluctantMango Knits, and you can find it at http://www.reluctantmango.blogspot.com. I’m primarily a knitter, but dabble occasionaly with crochet and sewing. Love the Big Crafty concept, can’t wait to see where you take it!
Great idea, Jen! I’m a plus size knitter, although I’ve only made a couple of things I’ve actually worn. I’m till working on Boobalicious from Big Girl Knits.
My blog is more of a diary of my life than anything else. I’m definitely plus-sized too. I live in Japan so it’s impossible to find crochet patterns (my craft of choice) large enough for me. I don’t have a lot of time to craft as I have my own business, but I like looking at patterns and dreaming!
It’s also difficult to match the wool needed for patterns. If I do get a pattern off the net, I can’t find the same kind of wool.
I can read crochet diagrams, so I occasionally buy Japanese books for crochet, but really have only done a shawl and a doily (which I didn’t finish!)
I can knit as well, but I’m not as good at knitting as I am at crochet. I can sew a little, but I don’t have a sewing machine here.
Thanks for leaving comments and links!
Hey there! Your site is awesome - I posted a shout out about it on mine the other day because I think what you’re doing is great, and now you’re in my side links too. The popularity of your site just goes to show you that what you’re doing is needed by many women all over - congrats
